Theo cập nhật trên website www.sbv.gov.vn của Ngân hàng Nhà nước Việt Nam, tính đến ngày 31/12/2022, trên toàn hệ thống có 16 công ty tài chính được chính thức cấp phép hoạt động, trong đó nhiều công ty 100% vốn nước ngoài. Trong số này có 14 công ty là hội viên Hiệp hội Ngân hàng Việt Nam.
