According to the report presented by Tran Cong Quynh Lan, the Technology Committee carried out a wide range of professional activities in 2025, most notably providing comments on several draft legal frameworks related to digital transformation and banking technology.

The committee also actively participated in major technology forums within the financial and banking sector, including conferences on artificial intelligence in finance, Smart Banking 2025, and the Customer Data Summit 2025, to exchange knowledge and stay updated on emerging technology trends.

At the regional level, representatives of the committee delivered presentations at the 24th ASEAN Bankers Association Conference, focusing on technological fraud prevention in banking.
Additionally, the committee contributed to developing unified guidelines for cross-border QR payment services, covering technical standards, ecosystem development, transaction processing mechanisms, and risk management frameworks.
Strategic priorities for 2026
During the meeting, members from major financial institutions—including Vietcombank, BIDV, Techcombank, MB, Sacombank, TPBank, VPBank, ACB and Napas—agreed on the strategic priorities for the committee’s activities in 2026.

Under the 2026 work plan, the Technology Committee will collaborate with other VNBA committees—including the Policy Committee and the Risk Committee—to organize a series of thematic workshops on a quarterly basis.
These events aim to provide a platform for member institutions and regulators to exchange insights on emerging technologies and address operational challenges in the banking sector.
Enhancing policy advisory role
In his closing remarks, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung commended the committee’s achievements in 2025 and expressed support for its 2026 work program.
He emphasized that Vietnam is among the countries with the fastest pace of banking sector digital transformation in the region, highlighting the importance of the Technology Committee in supporting innovation and policy development.

Dr. Hung also urged the committee to strengthen its policy advisory role by identifying regulatory challenges related to banking technology and providing timely recommendations to regulators.
Furthermore, the committee was encouraged to develop an annual report on technology development in the banking sector, covering achievements, emerging challenges, and policy recommendations.
