In addition to VNPAY QR payments, Shinhan Bank is expanding NAPAS QR Pay on its Shinhan SOL Vietnam application (SOL app), giving customers more payment options at participating merchants within the connected network. Integrating multiple payment methods into a single application helps simplify transactions and better meet customers’ everyday shopping and spending needs.
For individual customers, QR payments reduce the need to carry cash and make transactions more convenient. For household businesses, this payment method helps diversify collection options, accommodate consumers’ payment preferences, and accelerate the digitalization of business operations.
Alongside the development of domestic services, Shinhan Bank continues to expand cross-border QR payments in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. The service caters to customers traveling, working, or conducting business across the region, enabling them to make payments through the Shinhan SOL Vietnam application (SOL app) at participating merchants within the supported payment networks.
Expanding QR payment acceptance gives customers more payment options when traveling abroad, reducing the need to prepare cash for each journey. At the same time, this initiative represents another step toward connecting Shinhan’s digital banking ecosystem with regional payment networks, bringing financial services closer to customers’ practical, everyday needs.
Alongside QR payments, Shinhan Bank has upgraded its NAPAS IBT 24/7 fund transfer service from Version 1.0 to Version 2.0 in accordance with NAPAS’s latest technical standards. The upgrade aims to strengthen transaction monitoring, tracking, and processing capabilities while continuing to meet customers’ needs for fast and convenient money transfers at any time.
The new version places greater emphasis on standardizing transaction information and identification codes, while strengthening reconciliation mechanisms and transaction status management. These enhancements support the verification, confirmation, and handling of discrepancies, helping improve the accuracy and transparency of fund transfer operations.
Through improvements to its infrastructure and processing procedures, Shinhan Bank continues to enhance service quality on SOL, combining the convenience of 24/7 fund transfers with more effective transaction management.
Information security and customer data protection remain fundamental to Shinhan Bank’s digital banking development. The Bank has obtained internationally recognized certifications, including ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for Information Security Management Systems and PCI DSS 4.0 for payment card industry data security.
Compliance with these standards helps strengthen information security governance, safeguard data, and enhance cybersecurity risk controls. In addition, the Bank implements a multi-layered security system that combines authentication methods for account access and transaction execution with electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) solutions to further protect customer accounts and personal information.
For Shinhan Bank, every technological advancement is aimed at better connecting customers’ financial needs, from payments and fund transfers to business operations and cross-border trade. The Bank will continue to expand its digital payment ecosystem, enabling individual and business customers to transact more conveniently and securely while empowering them to seize new opportunities with greater confidence.
