NICE CI Admission: A boost for the inclusive credit and financial information market

Hanoi, Afternoon of August 13, 2026 – The Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA) officially held a ceremony to admit NICE Credit Information Co., Ltd (NICE CI) as an associate member. This event not only marks a significant milestone for NICE CI shortly after commencing operations in the Vietnamese market, but also opens up high expectations for enhancing data quality, fortifying risk management, and promoting profound digital transformation across the banking sector.

The admission ceremony was chaired by Dr. Dao Minh Tu – Vice Chairman cum Secretary General of VNBA, alongside leaders of the specialized boards and units of the Permanent Agency. During the ceremony, Ms. Bui Thu Oanh, Head of VNBA's Membership Affairs Board, announced Decision No. 39/QD-HHNH (signed on August 11, 2026) officially admitting NICE CI as an associate member.

This event marks a particularly special timeframe: NICE CI officially joined VNBA a mere 3 months after being granted the Certificate of Eligibility for Credit Information Provision by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on May 20, 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Dao Minh Tu emphasized that this is a highly symbolic event. The issuance of an operating license in the credit information sector in Vietnam requires strict compliance with stringent data infrastructure regulations and standards. Therefore, the presence of NICE CI demonstrates the significant attention of the Government and the SBV towards strategic investors, particularly high-quality capital inflows from South Korea.

Convergence of data and core technology from South Korea

Representing NICE CI at the ceremony were senior executives including Mr. Yoo Seongoh – Global Director of NICE Information Service (South Korea), and Mr. Henry Hyunwoo Chun – General Director of NICE CI.

Established on December 30, 2022, NICE CI is a 100% foreign-invested enterprise affiliated with NICE Information Service Co., Ltd. – the leading institution in credit information in South Korea with nearly 40 years of experience.

Mr. Henry Hyunwoo Chun – General Director of NICE CI

Representing NICE CI, Mr. Henry Hyunwoo Chun affirmed that the company brings the philosophy of "Smart credit, confident decisions", and committed to directly transferring its extensive accumulated experience in data analysis, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data technology, tailoring them to the specific characteristics of the Vietnamese market.

NICE CI's strategic operations will focus on 3 main pillars:

(i) Accurate and secure data: Assisting credit institutions in making disbursement and portfolio management decisions based on highly reliable risk assessment models.

(ii) Financial fraud prevention: Strengthening cross-cooperation to build defense systems for the early detection and prevention of financial fraud within the banking system.

(iii) Promoting financial inclusion: Expanding the application of alternative data to conduct credit scoring for individual customers and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) – customer segments that traditionally face barriers in accessing conventional capital sources due to a lack of credit history.

Multidimensional impacts on the Vietnamese banking ecosystem

NICE CI becoming an associate member of VNBA brings distinct synergistic values to multiple stakeholders:

  • For VNBA and member organizations: VNBA gains a partner providing credit information services with strong technological capabilities and international experience. This creates favorable conditions for VNBA members to connect, share technology, and exchange governance experience, thereby standardizing bad debt risk filters right from the customer onboarding phase.

  • For NICE CI: Associate membership helps the company swiftly deeply root itself in the Vietnamese banking ecosystem and establish strategic B2B partnerships (similar to how the NICE ecosystem is collaborating with major banks like Shinhan, Woori, VietinBank, TPBank, etc.). Concurrently, the company gains the opportunity to provide critical feedback on policies and contribute to building secure legal frameworks for data.

  • For the market and economy: Through the development of the alternative data system, millions of individuals and SME businesses will undergo a fairer credit assessment. This acts as a direct catalyst to unblock credit flows, minimize reliance on "black credit" (usury), and realize the Financial Inclusion goals aimed for by the Government.

Concluding the ceremony, NICE CI representatives made strong commitments to strictly comply with Vietnamese laws, particularly regarding personal data protection standards. Through tight-knit connectivity with VNBA, NICE CI is anticipated to become a crucial data "link," contributing to advancing the Vietnamese credit information market significantly towards transparency, security, and sustainable development.
