These promotions offer various gifts and ‘lucky’ money for customers. Several banks have also organised lotteries and raised interest rates for savings deposits.

From January 2 to February 2, southern commercial lender ACB is running a series of initiatives with lucky money for various financial products.

Existing and new ACB personal credit cardholders will receive VND68,000 ($2.8) in lucky money for each transaction with a minimum spend of VND3 million ($125).

The maximum total lucky money per customer is about $28. Customers who deposit savings with a three-month term will receive a preferential interest rate of 4.25 per cent per annum and unlimited lucky money for deposits starting from VND60 million ($2,500), with lucky money up to $280 per deposit.

The savings deposit incentives shall be extended until February 3. For new customers making their first transactions on the ACB ONE platform, $2.8 will be refunded for each transaction valued at VND300,000 ($12.5) or more.

Each customer can receive lucky money up to three times during the promotion.

Moreover, customers can simultaneously receive lucky money from the ‘ACB Tet Tien Tai Toi’ (ACB- Good Luck comes on Tet) programme when using services such as savings deposits, spending, bill payments, and opening store accounts.

All lucky money will be transferred to customers' accounts on February 7, coinciding with the 10th day of the Lunar New Year (God of Wealth Day), a day believed to bring luck, fortune, and prosperity.

Similarly, BVBank has tailored a special promotion for customers depositing savings between January 2 and March 15 for terms from six-months or above.

The higher the deposit, the more attractive the gifts, with diverse options such as handbags, thermos flasks, helmets, quality porcelain sets, and bowls.

From February 3 to February 5, corresponding to the sixth, seventh, and eighth days of the Lunar New Year, all customers transacting at BVBank will receive a lucky money envelope worth VND50,000 ($2.1) as a New Year’s greeting.

OCB has also launched the ‘Bright New Year - Receive Millions of Spring Fortune’ promotion for savings customers, with total prizes valued at up to $125,000.

Customers opening new savings accounts or fixed deposit contracts with terms from six months to 36 months at branches nationwide, with amounts from $12,500 to $41,600, will receive Got It vouchers worth from $8.3 to $33, along with many special gifts.

Similarly, the ‘Welcoming the Year of the Snake - Golden Gifts’ scheme for customers depositing savings at all PGBank branches offers prizes totalling nearly $208,300.

Customers depositing from $415 will have the chance to win SJC gold, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and tens of thousands of other lucrative prizes.

As the earliest bank to launch a Lunar New Year promotion scheme on December 2, 2024, Ocean Bank is welcoming savings customers.

Customers can enjoy enticing deposit rates for terms below 12 months, such as 4.3 per cent for a one-month term, 4.6 per cent for a three-month term, and 5.5 per cent for a six-month term.

Especially, when depositing savings for six-months, customers will have a chance to win Vinfast VF7 cars, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, AirPods 4, and more with the ‘Quick Savings - Double Fortune’ promotion.
