Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung said that Visa globally issued an important press release about 2 months ago, announcing innovation initiatives in 2025. This event was organized on a global scale, in which Southeast Asia also actively participated.
It is particularly noteworthy that among the 7 global initiatives announced by Visa, the Vietnamese market is one of the pioneering countries implementing at least 4 initiatives.
“These initiatives not only have a great impact on Visa's operating strategy in Vietnam, but also contribute positively to the major orientations of the State Bank and the Government, such as promoting financial inclusion, digital transformation in the payment sector, etc. This will also be the main content of today's working session,” Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung shared.
At the meeting, Mr. Kelvin Utomo shared about the new solutions launched by Visa, including: Click-to-Pay, Flex and Visa Accept.
Click-to-Pay is a tokenization solution that allows consumers to make online shopping transactions without entering payment information. Vietnam is one of the first countries Visa has deployed this solution.
Flex promotes innovative card solutions by allowing a single identifier to access multiple funding accounts.

Visa Accept makes it easy for merchants to accept card payments using NFC-enabled smartphones
Sharing at the meeting, Ms. Poojyata Khattar, Senior Director, Products and Solutions, Visa Southeast Asia, introduced Visa Payment Passkey, Visa's new biometric authentication solution. Accordingly, Visa Payment Passkey uses FIDO/passkey technology to authenticate online transactions, replacing traditional passwords with biometrics or PIN codes on the user's device. This solution enhances security and provides an easier, faster online payment experience for customers.
Ms. Hollie Thistlewood, Senior Director, Innovation and Product Development, Visa Asia Pacific, shared about Visa Intelligent Commerce - a platform that enables the integration of AI agents into the payment ecosystem in a secure, transparent and compliant manner.
In addition to the latest technology solutions, at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ba Linh continued to update the situation of fraud and counterfeiting related to payment security. In addition to statistics, Visa also emphasized new fraud trends, and shared more specifically how other markets in the world are handling and managing the issue, to help Vietnam have more useful references in the process of perfecting the legal corridor and improving technology.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Banks Association - highly appreciated the solutions that Visa is implementing, which are all practical innovative solutions. Visa's updated research, data and details on the overall picture related to risks and fraud in card payments in Vietnam as well as in the region are also very in-depth and detailed.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung acknowledged and thanked Visa for proactively coordinating, sharing information, and developing solutions to accompany the banking system in efforts to ensure the safety of payment transactions as well as early warning of fraud risks. At the same time, he suggested that Visa organize sessions to share useful information on this content with VNBA member banks.

In addition, at the request of VNBA at previous meetings, Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung said that Visa has worked directly with 4 banks including: BIDV, VietinBank, Sacombank and VPBank. It is expected that in July, Visa will continue to work with other banks such as MB, Eximbank, MSB, Agribank, etc. Visa aims to complete the overall regional report by the end of July and share it with the Banking Association and relevant parties. Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Quoc Hung welcomed Visa's positive actions. Representatives of the Association and the Bank Card Association suggested that Visa continue to work directly with each member bank to come up with practical support solutions. The parties will continue to closely coordinate in the coming time.
