VNBA received leader of Shinhan Bank Vietnam

On the afternoon of October 29, 2024, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA) had a meeting and talked with the leader of Shinhan Bank Vietnam (Shinhan Bank Vietnam) to inform about the results of the recent working trip to Korea of the VNBA delegation and discuss some key issues of the banking industry that both sides are interested.

On behalf of the VNBA Standing Office were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary and representatives of some departments and units of the Standing Office.

On behalf of Shinhan Bank Vietnam, there was Mr. Ryu Je Eun - Deputy General Director.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung highly appreciated the organization and the warm and enthusiastic reception of the Korean Federation of Banks (KFB) and Shinhan Bank for the VNBA delegation in Korea. The contents discussed in Korea are key issues that Vietnamese credit institutions are currently very interested in. These are very practical experiences that have been successfully implemented by Korea and will be useful knowledge to help the Vietnamese banking system operate more effectively.

In addition, Vice Chairman cum General Secretary Nguyen Quoc Hung also said that VNBA is always interested in supporting the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of member organizations in general, including Shinhan Bank Vietnam. Therefore, Mr. Hung suggested that Shinhan Bank Vietnam should coordinate more closely in issues of promoting the image, products and services, etc. of the bank on the VNBA Website and the multimedia communication ecosystem of the VNBA Website. This is a communication channel to promote images, products and services for members.

In addition, Vice Chairman and General Secretary Nguyen Quoc Hung also noted that Shinhan Bank Vietnam should boldly propose to VNBA about training courses to improve the quality of human resources specifically for Shinhan Bank Vietnam (in addition to the courses that the Association has opened for members). At the same time, summarize the difficulties and obstacles in the operation process so that VNBA can play a good role as a bridge between member organizations and state management agencies, in order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of member organizations.

At the meeting, Mr. Ryu Je Eun expressed his joy at the successful operation of the VNBA delegation in Korea. At the same time, he further introduced the KFB's operating model in Korea. In particular, Mr. Ryu Je Eun also expressed that it was the first time he learned about the VNBA's Website ecosystem and training channel.

Mr. Ryu Je Eun also added that Shinhan Bank Vietnam has encountered many difficulties and obstacles in applying new products and services in Vietnam. Due to the different legal systems of Vietnam and Korea, when implementing products and services from Korea, it is necessary to comply with the laws in Vietnam.

Mr. Ryu Je Eun committed to proactively connecting with VNBA, and at the same time synthesizing the difficulties and obstacles through the operation process and analysis to be able to send to VNBA as soon as possible.

Previously, from October 14-16, the VNBA delegation led by Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Vice Chairman and General Secretary, visited and worked in Korea

During the visit, the VNBA delegation had a working session with the Korean Federation of Banks (KFB). At the same time, they visited Shinhan Bank Korea.

Accordingly, the two sides discussed topics surrounding the macroeconomic situation, banking operations and credit sector in Vietnam and Korea; exchanged experiences in digital transformation, the use of electronic signatures in practice at Korean banks as well as experiences in green credit practices at Korean banks.

At the meeting with Shinhan Bank Korea, the bank representative exchanged information about the lending service sector, clearly stating the appraisal processes when lending online, online lending products (micro-credit, home loans, car loans, employee loans, etc.). In addition, the bank also introduced technologies and processes related to authenticating customer identity by online ID or via mobile devices or through web access data mining, etc. At the same time, Shinhan Bank also shared experiences in applying digital signatures in the credit lending process at this bank.
