Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Lim May May said that the International Compliance Association (ICA) has worked with the Singapore Academy of Banking and Finance to design training programs with certificates of Legal Compliance and Prevention. Anti-money laundering based on legal regulations.
In Vietnam, ICA wants to introduce courses and certifications for legal and compliance. Courses and certificates will be translated into many languages, as valuable as CFA certificates that are recognized in Vietnam. This certificate is recognized by the University of Manchester (UK).
ICA's certificates include: Anti-money laundering certificate; Financial crime prevention; Customer due diligence and eKYC; Managing sanctions risks; Network security risk management; Legal risk management.
The courses are individually designed and at the end of the course, students will continue to receive updated information, knowledge and receive work support after the course. ICA representative said that currently Vietnam's banking and finance industry is developing strongly. Therefore, having this certificate will help legal and compliance personnel have more knowledge and professionalism in their work.
Sharing at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Vice President and General Secretary of VNBA expressed his thanks and welcomed ICA representatives for coming to work with VNBA, sharing information of interest to both sides.
Mr. Hung said that training, improving knowledge, expertise and enhancing professionalism at work is extremely necessary. However, ICA needs to specifically develop learning programs that are linked to the actual needs of each bank and comply with Vietnamese legal regulations so that the certificates have legal value and are convenient for work. of officers and employees at each bank.
To make training closer to reality, Mr. Hung believes that ICA needs to survey training needs from banks; Organize seminars and discussions to share issues that banks are interested in so that they can synthesize and build an appropriate program framework. According to Mr. Hung, the course content related to risk management in payments and money laundering prevention is also of interest to many banks.
At the end of the meeting, the ICA representative expressed her gratitude and joy with the welcome from VNBA. Ms. Lim May May also hopes to have more cooperation and meetings with VNBA as well as to invite VNBA to attend seminars and forums held by ICA.
