21 Vietnamese banks in the Fortune SEA 500 list in Southeast Asia

The Big4 giants along with 17 joint stock banks, led by VPBank, MB and Techcombank, have appeared in the Fortune SEA 500 list, including the 500 largest enterprises in Southeast Asia.

The magazine Fortune has just announced the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 (Fortune SEA 500) ranking, including the 500 largest enterprises in the Southeast Asian region. To be included in this ranking, an enterprise must have a minimum revenue of more than 460 million USD.

The ranking brings together enterprises from 7 Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and Cambodia.

Vietnam has 76 enterprises on the list, including fields such as finance-banking, real estate, energy, food, heavy industry, aviation, retail, etc.

Of which, the banking sector has 21 representatives, more than any other country in Southeast Asia, the insurance sector has only one representative, Bao Viet.

According to the published list, BIDV is the leading bank in Vietnam, ranked 43rd in the Fortune SEA 500, with revenue of more than 6.8 billion USD, profit of 1,004 million USD and total assets of more than 108 billion USD. The other three representatives in the Big4 group, Agribank, VietinBank and Vietcombank, ranked 45th, 55th and 81st respectively in the rankings, with revenues of 6.65 billion USD, 6.1 billion USD, and 4.7 billion USD, respectively.

VPBank leads the group of joint stock banks with revenue of nearly 4.2 billion USD, profit of about 630 million USD and total assets of 36.2 billion USD. MB and Techcombank occupy the next two positions with revenue of nearly 3.8 billion USD and 3.3 billion USD respectively.

The remaining positions on the list are HDBank (revenue of 2.52 billion USD), ACB (2.4 billion USD), Sacombank (2.3 billion USD), SHB (2.1 billion USD), LPBank (1.6 billion USD), VIB (1.5 billion USD), TPBank (1.3 billion USD), SeABank (948 million USD), MSB (947 million USD), OCB (813 million USD), Nam A Bank (757 million USD), Eximbank (685 million USD), Bac A Bank (490 million USD) and ABBank (436 million USD).

In this ranking, there is the presence of OCB and ABBank, ranked 317th and 481st respectively in the list, with revenue of 813 million USD and 436 million USD, respectively.
