MobiFone Digital Payment JSC. (MDP) operates in the payment intermediary services sector, providing financial switching, electronic clearing, electronic payment gateway, and supporting collection and disbursement services. Through these capabilities, MDP serves as a key connectivity layer linking banks, financial institutions, businesses, and digital service ecosystems.
With the vision of “Unlock the new era of digital payments for Vietnam,” MDP aims to become an open payment platform that connects participants across the financial and digital services ecosystem, enables new payment models and use cases, and expands Vietnam’s connectivity with regional and global payment ecosystems.
Since its establishment, MDP has focused on regulatory and legal compliance, technology infrastructure development, operational standardization, cybersecurity and resilience, and the expansion of its strategic partner ecosystem.
Positioning & Technical Capabilities
MDP is the second entity in Vietnam licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to provide financial switching and electronic clearing services. Its technology infrastructure has successfully passed SBV’s technical assessments, demonstrating its readiness to support payment operations at scale.
Security & Compliance
MDP’s Payment Switching System (PSS) has been approved at Level 4, while its Payment Gateway (PGW) has been approved at Level 3 in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework.
MDP has also obtained ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and PCI DSS certifications, reinforcing its capabilities in information security, secure payment processing, operational resilience, and risk management.
Banking Network
MDP has established technical and operational partnerships with 11 commercial banks, including: Techcombank, VPBank, Sacombank, Vietcombank, TPBank, Eximbank, Agribank, PVcomBank, MSB, BVBank, and Nam A Bank.
Strategic Partnerships
MDP has established strategic partnerships with NAPAS, Visa, Mastercard, and the RAR Center under the Ministry of Public Security (C06) to expand infrastructure connectivity, enable international payment capabilities, leverage population data for digital identity and financial services, and develop digital payment services on VNeID, Vietnam’s national digital identity platform.
