Banks must provide customers with options for registering credit limits and waiting period.
To help customers minimize risks during payment transactions and prevent fraud, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) recently issued document 6190/NHNN-TT dated July 14, 2026, requiring banks and branches of foreign banks to provide customers with a service for registering credit limits and waiting periods. Simultaneously, the SBV requires banks and branches of foreign banks to develop specific implementation plans and execute them before March 1, 2027.
